Tinubu celebrates insurance icon, Babington-Ashaye at 60
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Dr. Funmi Babington-Ashaye on her 60th birthday, hailing her as a visionary leader in Nigeria’s insurance sector and a pillar of socioeconomic progress.
In a statement released on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu applauded Dr. Babington-Ashaye’s transformative impact on the industry, particularly her tenure as the 48th President of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN).
Now serving as the CEO of Risk Analyst Insurance Brokers, she is credited with spearheading reforms that elevated industry standards and widened financial security access for Nigerians.
“Your work has strengthened institutions, created opportunities, and set a standard for excellence,” President Tinubu remarked, emphasizing her lasting contributions.
Dr. Babington-Ashaye’s influence extends beyond insurance. Her leadership roles at Cornerstone Insurance Plc and NICON Insurance Corporation have solidified her as a key driver of industry growth.
She has also been a staunch advocate for ethical governance through her involvement with the Chartered Institute of Directors (IoD) and the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
