V. Earn respect

While working, earn respect for yourself. Any man/woman that has no respect is like a lunatic on the road. Respect should be your real self. Let people know who you are from the beginning of getting engaged in the working place. Most often when I hear some form of harassment especially by some working ladies in their place of work, I try to ask te question: how do you present yourself from day one before other staff especially your superior. You will definitely be addressed the way you present yourself.

Respect is hinged on a tripod stand; integrity, honesty and hard work. If you have these three attributes, wherever you are, you will be sort out for. In the real sense, especially in the business world of today, what is the percentage of those that can be counted to have the three attributes? There are but very few, be sure there is a bright future for you. No doubt it may be tough initially, but be sure of having glorious later days.
There are people who made it but not through the three combination mentioned. They are seen as people who has arrived, in the worldly sense; unfortunately such people do not last to the end. Examples abound in our contemporary world of today.

vi. Be financially independent
It is very important that you try to fend for yourself and family. A poor man often lacks confidence and talks apologetically while a rich man talks full of himself. You are near slavery (if not one) if you are not financially free, don’t get me wrong by equating this assertion with humility. Yes, humility is good. If you are rich I will implore you to have the culture of humility. Let’s examine a scenario for clarity. A rich man was invited to a big location and came in simple local attire called Adire. Every other guest dressed gorgeously, either in expensive suites or native dresses. Not that the man who came in a simple Adire attire cannot afford to buy and dress in a very expensive attire, he was possibly trying to be modest and simple. When the roll call of donors to the event was called, the man surprised everyone by being the highest donor. As his name was called all eyes were on him. The man ended up stilling the show with his mouth watering donations, far above every other person combined (including those with expensive dresses) if you must free yourself in any profession or calling you find yourself, you need to strive to be financially independent.

vii. Move away from debt.
It is very tempting while working to have all kinds of opportunities to get loan. While it may be good to do this, try to work away from a loan that will make you a debtor, a debt that becomes very difficult for you to honour your obligation. Where what you are doing makes it easy for you to repay the loan without having sleepless night that may be good.
But then try to discipline yourself not to be too frequent getting a loan. There are some in there places of work that have made it their habitual character to buy things on credit before they earn their salary. By the end of the month when they are receiving their salary, little or nothing is left for them to take home as the bulk of the salary is already mortgaged in the repayment of the loan.
Some appears so foolish to be buying some of these materials three times their real price if they were to discipline themselves and save enough to buy at control price.
